Interested
in supercharging your A3 VR6? Do you have a enough tools to be dangerous?
Well, maybe you can build your own kit, and help other's do the same!
If you own an A3 VR6, you most likely are quite aware of your options
as far as forced induction is concerned. If you interested in a super
charger, your choice are very limited. This page is an attempt at providing
you with the information necessary to buy all the parts to build a
complete VR6 super charger using either a Vortech V1 or V2 charger.
For those computer geeks out there, this project is similar to the
Linux operating system... it's open-source so everyone can contribute
and make it better!
This page was created to pool information regarding the building of
a Vortech-style supercharger kit. Not only do we intend to address
the fueling issues, we also hope that you will be able to create a
kit for less money than you can buy it.
Phase I: The Parts List
Create a complete listing of all the necessary parts to build the
kit. This includes everything, from the blower to every screw or nut.
In addition to a part list, we would like to list where each part can
be purchased, and hopefully get some deals along the way.
Phase II: The Online Manual
Once we have the list of parts and a few people have bought the parts,
it's time to create an online installation manual! No more bad Xerox
copies of instructions!
Obviously, in order to make this project work, it will require your
help! Please
contribute this project via our forums, and we will try to gather
the usefull information here.

Belt |

w/o A/C pulley |
This p/n breaks down as 080 - 8rib belt, 570 -
57" length.
This particular belt is for a car with no AC and a smaller pulley.
This series of belts should be available in a range of lengths,
just order 25-080*** and fill in the desired length. One rib must
be cut off to make this a 7 rib belt. |
